Between-closings housing in Charlotte is a furnished home for a buyer whose closing date moves, and realtors can offer one with a single phone call. This post is for realtors who work with relocating buyers, and it covers 3 steps to take before the next closing slips.

What is a between-closings gap?

On October 7, 2026, Re:Build reported a planned expansion in Rock Hill of about $20 million, with 150 jobs expected in York County, according to Area Development. New employers bring people who have to move on someone else's schedule.

A gap happens when a buyer closes on the old home, the new closing shifts, and the movers are already booked. A family can manage a few nights in a hotel. For a gap of a month or more, they usually do better in a furnished home with a kitchen and laundry.

What are the 3 steps?

1. Ask the housing question on the first call. Ask where the buyer is staying while you look. You learn how much time they have, and how much patience.
2. Keep one housing contact in your phone. A lender needs another week. A seller wants a rent-back. A buyer has to be out by Friday. Have one furnished option you can describe in a sentence. Our 30, 60 or 90 day guide helps match the stay to the gap.
3. Check the handoff before you make it. You put your name on every referral. Ask who answers the phone, what is on the bill, and whether the home is ready. How does the referral program work?

Earn a $250 Visa card for referring a friend who books a stay of 30 days or more. The realtor referral form asks for the referral's name, email and phone, plus the date you referred them. A referral fee is paid for each referral that signs a 30-day contract or longer, with one referral per lease address.

My take

Most of our properties allow pets, and a non-refundable pet deposit may apply. Tell us about the pet up front so we can match the home.
